Sidney Alicia Covarrubias serves as a dedicated Physician Assistant at Suvida, bringing a wealth of expertise and empathy to her role. Graduating in September 2023, she holds a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University, a Masters of Technology Health Policy from Arizona State University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and Family and Human Development from the same institution. Driven by a passion for Diabetes Mellitus, Sidney excels in helping patients comprehend their diagnosis and treatment by simplifying medical concepts into patient-friendly language. Her professional journey includes experience as a Family Medicine Physician Assistant at Nava Family Medicine, with prior roles in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. Sidney’s commitment to advancing healthcare is evident through her research contributions in Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer, at TGen as well as Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her husband, family, and friends, indulging in culinary experiments, exploring new cuisines, traveling, and embracing novel experiences. Sidney continues to be inspired and is eager to continue increasing her medical knowledge, especially after witnessing health disparities through her upbringing in a small village in Mexico.
