Melissa is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, licensed to treat behavioral health concerns across all ages including aging adults. She strives to reduce mental health stigma and promote healing through culturally competent care, being bilingual and fluent in Spanish. Having graduated with a Master’s in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin, she completed a scholars program in Integrative Behavioral Health and gained expertise in various therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and others.
With a background in critical care nursing and a Masters in Counseling, Melissa has experience working with diverse populations, such as severe mental illness patients, adolescents in the juvenile probation system, and families and children who were victims of abuse. Her approach to treatment involves collaborating with patients to support their goals using evidence-based practices while fostering empathy and maintaining a non-judgmental environment.
