Ana Fuentevilla, MD, MHCDS, is a passionate and forward-thinking healthcare leader, dedicated to improving health outcomes for the rapidly growing 65+ Hispanic and Latino/a community. As the Co-Founder and National Chief Medical Officer of Suvida Healthcare, Dr. Fuentevilla is driving the vision of neighborhood-centered, senior-focused, multigenerational primary care, wellness services, and health education. Her work at Suvida delivers culturally competent, holistic care tailored to the needs of this diverse, aging population.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Fuentevilla has been a champion for health equity. As a Chief Medical Officer at UnitedHealthcare and Optum Population Health Solutions, she developed and executed strategies that delivered and scaled equitable, outcomes-based healthcare programs for at-risk and underserved populations. She has deep experience working with Medicaid agencies and expanding long term care across multiple states.

As an expert in health equity, she has served in various leadership capacities, including on the UnitedHealthcare Equity Advancement Board, Maternal Mortality Task Force, Unidos Connected Community, and the Optum Health Equitable Care Task Force, among others. Her prowess and dedication to addressing disparities in care and ensuring underrepresented communities have access to the high-quality services they deserve has made her a prominent voice in the national healthcare sector.

At Suvida Healthcare, Dr. Fuentevilla continues to advocate from the heart for person-centered care that honors the dignity of every patient and their families. She strives to ensure providers have adequate time to address every patient’s question or concern, and that every patient feels heard, supported, and comfortable receiving care. Through her passion for culturally competent care, she has created a space that provides bilingual, bicultural wraparound care that builds trust between the patient and their healthcare provider and ensures Hispanic and Latina/o seniors and their caregivers can thrive.

She holds a medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine with fellowships in geriatrics, which led to her love of caring for the aging population. In her personal life, she enjoys being with her four children and spending time outdoors skiing, hiking, and snorkeling.
